Faith was never meant to be a solo pursuit. From the opening pages of Scripture, God has been forming a people, not merely saving individuals. Genesis 2:18 records God's first "not good": man being alone. Long before sin entered the world, God had already built community into the design of a flourishing life.
God's Design for Community
Throughout Scripture, believers are described in corporate terms: a body, a family, a flock, a temple built from many stones. These are not decorative metaphors. They describe how faith is meant to function, connected and mutually supportive, rather than isolated and self-sufficient.
The Early Church as Our Model
Acts 2:42-47 gives us a picture of what this looked like in practice: believers devoted to teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer, sharing meals and resources, and meeting together with glad and sincere hearts. It was ordinary life, shared on purpose.
What Isolation Costs Us
Hebrews 10:25 warns against neglecting to meet together, precisely because isolation is costly. Without community, we lose accountability, encouragement in hard seasons, and the chance to use our gifts for someone else's benefit. Growth that lasts rarely happens alone.
Practical Ways to Get Connected
Community rarely happens by accident; it takes a first step. Join a small group or Bible study. Serve on a ministry team. Show up consistently, not just occasionally. Let people see the real you, not only the version you bring on your best days.
If you have been attending Living Faith Christ Mission without yet finding your place, we would love to help you take that next step. Reach out through our Contact page or speak with a pastor after any service. Community is waiting for you here.
